Maps now wrong in Peak Limestone on the app.

I used to have this problem with Peak Gritstone East, but that has been fixed. Now Peak Limestone has the same bug of the crag name overlay being in the wrong place on the maps, this is definitely true for the map for Stoney area, not sure about other areas. Anyone else noticed this?

Hopefully this info might be useful to the Rockfax team, even if no one else.

I can see the maps with the bugs above by going to Horseshoe Quarry. This morning I was looking at Hidden Quarry and when viewing the maps there via that crag, they are correct including Horseshoe that being just across the road, is easily visible (you can click off the map to Horseshoe sectors etc. see below.

I think a recent update to Horseshoe has introduced an error into the mapping data possibly?

I get this too. It seems to particularly affect West Country Climbs crags for me, but also affects other areas at times (screenshot of Wintours map below). Sometimes place name labels (towns, road names) are also offset.

In what seems like a similar issue I have periodic problems where text, arrows and numbers are offset or missing from topos too.

Have tried reinstalling the app and it's even persisted through a phone change. I can't report it through the app due to security settings on my phone.

Just looked, I wouldn't normally cos I know where they are. But ByG, Wyndcliff and Wintours are all wrong on my app. So not you or your phone!

In reply to cwarby:

This should be fixed now. Thanks for the report.

Nope. Sorry

In reply to Stephen Horne - Rockfax:

Thanks, but I don't think it's worked.

Here's a bunch of North Cornwall crags (as well as road and place name labels) transplanted into the sea.

That's just due to the storms

In reply to TXG:

I've not seen the Cornwall ones. I'd fixed (or thought I had) the peak limestone ones.

Can you tell me which crag you're seeing this at? As in which crag are you looking at when you open that map.

thanks

Same question cwarby: can you tell me which crag you're seeing that at please?

Can you also check which version of the crag you have installed? That should be visible in the downloads view for the area. See screenshot

thanks

Hi Stephen, That was Cornakey cliff, version 2.0.11.

I downloaded at Bench Tor and carn les boel yesterday too (same version numbers) and they were also offset.

Thanks.

You work late!

The screenshot is from Wintours Leap, but Wyndcliff and ByG are showing the same. Not using Shorn Cliff, but guess it could be the same.

App says V2.2.4

I think that might be your app version number rather than crag version number (see Stephens screenshot for where to see crag version no).

Cheers

Tom

In reply to TXG:

DOH! You're right. Once you've downloaded that crag there is no Rev No. But yes I've got the same as you.

In reply to TXG:

Hi TXG,

I think you might be referring to the app version. Can you try updating to the latest version of the app, which should be 2.2.4.

There is however an issue with the current public version where crag versions (what Stephen is referring to, are not displaying within this list). This is fixed in 2.2.5, however I am still in a testing phase with this.

Regards,
Martin

In reply to Martin McKenna - Rockfax:

Hi Martin,

Stephen asked for the crag version number which I included in my post at 08.06 today.

App version for me is 2.2.4, so it seems I'm running the latest version.

Cheers

Tom

In reply to Stephen Horne - Rockfax:

Just noted the app wanted to download updates. Crags now all correctly located on the 3 I mentioned.

Considering it's weekend, thanks all.

Just checked and there are loads of updates for Peak Limestone. Updated Horseshoe and the maps are now fixed.

So I'll second your thanks to the Rockfax team!

In reply to cwarby:

Fixed for me too. Thanks all.

In reply to TobyA:

The weekend is probably the worst time for us to have errors in our data so no worries.

All the issues reported in this thread should be fixed now, but if I've missed anything please let me know and we'll get it sorted.
