This event seems to be incredibly badly advertised but thought it might be of interest to some given the good forecast and the excellent rock in the Ffestiniog area (not to mention the new guidebook and recent bouldering development). Sorry for the Eventbrite link, but I can’t find anything on the BMC website about it even though it’s a BMC event. Looks like there’s plenty going on, most of it free and plenty for anyone new to the outdoors.

Edit to add I’m pretty sure James Mchaffie is doing a talk on Friday

I checked and you are right.... it's not at all easy to find from the website... not good.... but that's been a recurring problem on the website. Even on searches for 'BMC Festival Wales' it's well down.

Another thread (I remember a third but can't find it):

In reply to Ron Rees Davies:

My profuse apologies.... shame they are the same weekend.

Definitely worth drawing attention to the Trefriw Walking festival (which should also be great and has minibuses taking people into the heart of the Carneddau among other things) but Hongian is climbing/bouldering as well as walking and looks a brilliant opportunity for anyone moving from indoors to outdoors for the first time.
Totally missed the previous thread but even so it’s a shame how little publicity there is around this.

Still tickets available for intro to sport climbing tomorrow (with me) and trad climbing Sunday (Calum Muskett) at a bargain price of £20 a ticket for the day.

Given the amount of time I piss away on the Internet I really don't know how I miss these things until too late...
