Stuck cams - help needed...

When stuck behind the slowest climbers in the world trying to remove their shiny new size 4 camalot from a too-small crack I got to inventing a way to cure the world of stuck cams. I came up with the "camstoppa" which can be easily  fitted to pretty much any cam.

The camstoppa doesn't interfere with the operation of the cam and it doesn't reduce the holding power.  It prevents over-camming and stops the cam walking until it is over-cammed so the cam can be easily retrieved.

Each camstoppa needs to be carefully tailored to each cam size. I'd like to collect a bunch more cam sizes to complete the library and in return for the measurements I'll make and send you some camstoppas for testing.

I have sizes for:

Wild Country,
Old technical friends black plastic stems, sizes: 1, 2, 3.5
Old technical friends bare cable, sizes Blue, Light blue

DMM
Dragon 1 size 6 (silver)
Dragon 2 size 4, 5 (gold, blue)

HB Quadcams 00-3.8 (great cams but niche interest)

BD
Older camalots, no thumb loops sizes: 0.5, 2, 3 (purple, yellow, blue)
Older camalots, with thumb loops, sizes: 1, 2, 3 (red, yellow, blue)
New C4s, sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4 (red, yellow, blue, silver)
X4, size: 0.75 (green)
Z4, sizes: 0.5, 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 (purple, grey, blue, yellow, red)

If you'd like some, contact me and I'll send you a "how to measure your cam" sheet and some camstoppas to try.

Ta!

In reply to camstoppa:

Had to check it wasn't April 1st. Sounded a little like a UKC long story

Sounds a valiant pursuit. Good luck.

My cams are all firmly wedged in the storage unit until we move.
