Hi All,

5 Days to go, Good luck to all those UKC’ers taking part. Hope everyone’s prep has gone well? 2nd time on the short score for me, hoping for a better result this year after a couple of navigational choices made us over 20 minutes late back on day 2 last year (Damn you Sheep Pen!! 😂) which really hurt. Still had a great time though and really looking forward to this weekend.

Good luck all and hopefully see some of you there!

Cheers Ryan

I shall think of you all, with a wistful look upon my face as I settle down beside the fire with a pint in my local.

In reply to Kryank:

I’m absolutely gutted I can’t make it, not least because of how well last year went, but also because it’s a really interesting looking location.

Good luck to everyone who’s taking part. I look forward to hearing some good stories off the back of it!!

You say that now, but you know full well that come the weekend you'd really rather be crammed into a tiny tent, stinking, damp, knackered and eating an inadequate portion of really rubbish food out of a bag.

Still have unfinished business Dave....

Yeah Thought you would be back to defend your crown after such an amazing performance last year.

Looking at the start list it looks like Wendy Dodds will be there this year as well, if I bump into her that will be almost as amazing as been stood behind Jasmin in the portal a loo queue last year 😂

I really wish I was, but I’m about to receive an operation on my abdomen so I’ll be out of action for around 12 weeks. I say ‘about to receive’ as I’m due to go into theatre any minute now (and am writing this from a hospital bed) 😅

Wendy Dodds is an absolute legend, not just for what she’s done but what she continues to do.

That is the most valid of notes for not attending! Fingers crossed all goes well with the op mate and wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery!

In reply to Kryank:

OMM 2025 training begins here, or not… 🤣

Keep us posted with how you all get on next weekend - I’ll be living vicariously through you!!

Wishing you a swift recovery, Rob!

I'm also not racing this year and it really feels like a hole? A ritual I'm missing out on. I'll be in North Wales ticking QMDs instead so it's not all bad.  Number 56 is on I think though!

I will be there! Attempt number two after last year's debut, loved the chaotic adventure of it all. Different partner this year, grateful he's stepped in at the last minute - his first time. The sheep pen frustrated my start last year also! Plus at least half an hour searching what turned out to be the wrong dip on the first big hill. We were about 15mins late to camp, you lose so many points!! Think I got off lightly with the weather last year, will see what this weekend brings. Hoping the gales will have calmed down. Best of luck to all taking part!

I thought about entering, especially with it being local for me, but events conspired to leave me with the dog for the weekend (a mountain runner in training).

We'll come out and cheer though, and have a little day on the hill ourselves. If you see an exasperated bloke with a big scruffy dog with endless energy, that's probably me.
