Any recommendations for summer mountain races, either in the UK or the alps? Looking for either an ultra 50-100 or some fun shorter races (10, 15, 20 miles etc), in nice places with interesting courses.

I’ve done several Lakeland 50/100s, various snowdon ultras and some of the spine races. Would quite like to do more in the sunny alpine

Ballet entries currently open for the various races during the Mont Blanc Marathon weekend.

“Ballot” obviously. Although there may well be a “ballet” category…

The Lavaredo Ultra is great. 120km, with various shorter distances on offer including an 80km option - https://lavaredo.utmb.world/races/lavaredo120k

Or closer to home this is good - https://www.highterrainevents.co.uk/cairngorm-ultra-trail

Tebay evening fell race around midsummer. Great route, beautiful descent, massive climb, pie and peas in working man's club after. Friendly locals. Low key, high impact.

It’s an English Champs race this year, so might be a bit busier - and somewhat more competitive!!

Ah right. Probably on a weekend as well then. Still, good spectator sport standing at top of the big climb. It's a while since I've done it.

It'll be a great one to watch given the calibre of the field. Sadly I won't be there, which is a shame because like you say - it's a great race/route.

Not the Alps or the UK, but I've been eyeing up a mountain race in the Picos, 14th of June.  6,000m gain is pretty hardcore

Having just got back from Asturias, I was really taken with the area.

Grand tour of   Skiddaw has just  changed format to a 20 mile  and 30 mile race. Route looks a bit  better now without the beginning and end part. Great little  event, free  (or  cheap  I  can't  quite remember) camping.
