Hi I am interested in joining a climbing / mountaineering club in the Yorkshire area. The only one I have contact details for is Leeds Mountaineering Club and I would prefer to try another club. Any advice on good active clubs would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks in advance

whereabouts are you based? Huddersfield also has the endearingly-named Fat Boys Climbing Club which is less a club and more an amorphous collection of people who climb together. Often to be found near Hudds wall on Wednesdays in winter.

There's probably a lot of people from Leeds in it....

You could check out The Gritstone Club, and I believe the Leeds chapter of the Fell and Rock are known as "the temperance section".

*Disclaimer*
I haven't climbed with any of the above groups.
