Hi,

I'm looking to head out to Italy for a race at the end of September and wanting to tag on some form of climbing/mountaineering training course after (1st week of October) - basically can be anywhere between S. Italy and Cumbria I guess. Preferably somewhere with good weather   It'd need to be fairly beginner focused (hence posting in this forum - feel free to suggest moving the post somewhere more relevant).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

What kind of climbing/mountaineering skills are you trying to develop?

You could look up some of the British guides in Chamonix and in Switzerland, but October is rather out of season for the Alps.  In the UK, the national centres (Glenmore Lodge and Plan y Brenin) offer excellent courses. You will get better answers if you can be a bit more specific.  HTH

How's your French ? UCPA run courses in Chamonix & many other areas of the French Alps

There's always the Costa Blanca.  Cheap and easy to get to from the UK.  Several companies run rock-climbing courses out there.
