I started climbing just a month ago and would like to find a climbing partner in the Manchester area to help me improve on top rope and learn to lead, but have really no idea where to start looking. Took a beginner course and learned to belay, tie a safe knot, etc. Never done outdoor but would be happy to give it a go!

As you're just getting started, it sounds like you're after a instructor/guide rather than a climbing partner as such. If you prefer to avoid paying somebody, this might take the form of a more experienced climber than yourself who is (to some extent) willing to do you a favour by taking you out .... which does happen, but filling out some sort of profile will make offers much more likely.

If your Manchester based have a look at Climbing Clan. Very active club so will be plenty of people to get out with. Mainly meet at Parthian and summit up but also head outside.
