I am going up Mont Blanc end of June this year and am keen to do some basic winter skills training. Particularly walking in crampons and scrambling. Be also nice to go up some more exposed areas like ridges.
Is there anyone on here who does this? I've seen some courses online but most are weekends and id like to do it midweek. I'm hoping to do it in Scotland. Will be coming from Dorset. Am free 11-16 Feb so that would be ideal.
I have availability 15th & 16th Feb for an Aviemore based winter skills course. Could be 1:1 or bring 3 friends. More details here: https://www.summitsense.co.uk/courses-events
I have similar plans to you this year, and currently considering which course to book in Scotland around the 10th or 17th February weekends. There looks to be a few offerings by Glenmore lodge or Jagged Globe in Glencoe (which might be better for ridge exposure) which run mid-week - I suppose it depends partly on how many days you're looking to spend on the course?
How're you tackling Mt Blanc? Are you going with a guide or organising yourself?
Hey. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into them. I'm prob gonna just do two days. Ideally I'd do a five day course but costs are mounting for this trip already.
I'm going to go with a guiding company. I don't have the skills or experience to be taking on Mont Blanc without a professional guide.
Maybe see you in Scotland or at the top of Montblanc
