Can anyone recommend a lightweight thermos flask that actually keeps drinks hot. Answers such as 'wrap some used undies around a lucozade bottle' will be appreciated for their humour but not for their lack of help.

Thanks.

In reply to m.hendy: no but i can recommend going onto berghaus.com and joining the clubhaus where if you write an outdoor day and have it put up, you will get one of berghaus's thermos mugs free. i have.

personally i just used my normal water bottle with an insulated cover (cheaper and lighter).Doesn't keep drinks warm for as long but if you keep it in your pack will keep warm for long enough

In reply to m.hendy: or you can buy a thermos flask and it does both well.

My stsainless steel jobbie seems to do the trick. Can't remember the brand...it's the one with the push-button on top that opens an outlet valve (I guess they all have those now).

Hardly "lightweight" though!
In reply to m.hendy:

I use a Vango thermos 0.7l (I think, the label's come off).

And it's not kidding when it says "Will keep your liquid hot or cold for more than 8 hrs". I've left my thermos full overnight, and found that the liquid is still hot in the morning. Which is nice. Saves making a brew up in the freezing cold, first thing in the morning.

Unless you plan to only use your thermos for tea (or other infusion), buy a brush long enough to properly clean the inside with.
