The Lakes or Snowdonia?

Has anyone been out foraging for ice in the Lakes or Snowdonia today and how are the conditions? Worth a trip?

In reply to j_duds: snowdonia sounds better, I was in the lakes yesterday, there are things in nick, like blea water and great end and helvellyn and others but north wales sounds better
