My camp Startech helmet has had a fault pretty much since I bought it, (unfortunately in Switzerland) The glue holding the headband onto the shell has come unstuck, so that the helmet swings around on the head, and the glue sticks to your hair. I know that this fault is common, and have emailed what I have been told is the UK contact for them, but have had no reply. Anyone else got any advice on how to contact them? Cant return it to the shop as its so far away. thanks

Had exactly the same problem, but as I bought mine in the uk, getting a refund was easy.

You could try speaking to your local stockist to see if they could give you some contact details of the uk importers. You never know, if they're feeling helpful, they may return it to them on your behalf!

Cheers,

Si

yep had the same problem with my original startech but contacted the distributors ( http://www.allcord.co.uk/contactus.htm ) who contacted my local shop (not the shop i bought it from) who inturn replaced it for me. so best bet is persist with contacting allcord.

That’s interesting, I happen to work for Allcord (the UK distributors for CAMP, Kayland, Millet, PAD & TSL) I’ve just called the office and they have no recollection of any contact to do with a lid, bought in Switzerland. Seems interesting that more than one person has had the same problem with the Startech. - I will email CAMP find out what’s happening.

Getting to your Point,
Allcord Limited
Ilford Road,

I understand that you bought this in Switzerland, if you’re in the UK now I’m sure on this occasion we can arrange a replacement for you. If anybody else has a problem with any of our products please talk to the retailer you bought it from if its faulty it will be replaced.

Cheers,

In reply to Jim Keeley:

It happened to both my lid and a mates one - we both got refunds from the shops we bought them from rather than replacements as we'd lost confidence in them.

Think the shop I dealt with was Ellis Brigham - but cant be 100% sure as it was 3 or 4 years back now. FWIW the guy in the shop commented that he'd seen / heard of this happening before.

Excactly the same problem with mine. The foam "cushion" in the top of the helmet becomes detatched and falls out (seems to depend on the temperature).
Never got round to sending it back, but was pretty dissapointed that it could happen to a bring new helmet.

In reply to vixen: As I remember this was a problem with the early Startechs which has now been fixed. I'd ring the UK distributor Allcord 0191 284 8444 - I'm sure they will help.
