does anybody lead the southern sandstone routes?

just looking at some pics of the southern sandstone venues and every one seems to be topropeing them, and this seems to cause horrific rope scars to the rock, why dont people do them the proper way or either soloing them above a mat-they look like highball boulderporblems.

Because the sandstone is too soft to lead it and some people do solo it.

In reply to IOAN D: The rock is very soft and wouldn't hold multiple falls on to gear (if any) so you either solo or top rope.

The scars are caused by thoughtless anchor arrangements and are avoidable.
