Saw it tonight. What a film. Dark, harsh but very good. Trying to figure out the caracter and his motivations and feelings.

Absolutely classic film.

PS It very long so be warned, but enjoy

PPS Any views on it?

Jeezus H what a dog! an overlong, turgid, and virtually plotless vehicle for Daniel Day Lewis to go OTT on

In reply to The Bushman: was it on T.V?

I think my expectations were too high. I really enjoyed Magnolia (one of the other films by Paul Thomas Anderson) and I've only heard fantastic things about this movie. However, on the whole I was disappointed. The score was fantastic and added a huge air of tension throughout the movie. However, I didn't really feel able to engage with any of the characters and ultimately didn't really care what happened to them. I spent my time wondering why I was watching a film and about a sociopathic oilman tbh.

Having said that DDL was amazing, and the film was well crafted. I'm glad I watched it, but I probably won't bother to watch it again.

Recently saw Juno and No Country at the cinema and thought they were both far better.
