I noticed you can get foam inserts for bouldering mats from Outside, and though it would be nice to make a cover out of something that would eventually rot.Can anybody reccomend a fabric and somewhere you can buy it?

Cheers
Tim.

am i just being dense or does it seem odd to want your boulder mat to rot?

Well nylon rots pretty well in the sun.
If you want a biodegradeable crashmat, why not use a sheep?

A couple of companies sell fabrics through mail order, Point North are good, and will give you samples and information about the best uses of the fabrics:

Pennine Outdoor also are similar:

Although I wouldn't imagine a natural fabric would be too suited to this use, as to make it durable and water resistant enough would mean it would be quite heavy.
I am baffled as to why you may want it to rot, are you trying to make a biodegradable bouldering mat?

In reply to Alex Masters:I thought that'd get a few people,i was thinking long term after i've possibly lost interest in boudering,i didn't like the idea of the cover hanging around for ages, and was after something that would rot and disappear,it was a thought.
Cheers,
Tim.

In reply to Timmd:As i'd use the foam for something else afterwards.
