what genre would you say PIL were? SoD were tagged onto the goths with The Mission and that lot, PIL deffo weren't goths!

In reply to Removed User: Not that I know of you sure you aren't thinking of Spear of Destiny -> Theatre of Hate.

We will be over your way end of September for a couple of weeks btw. Let us know if you want supplies of butteries.

In reply to Removed User: Well Bob...the only connection I can think of is Jim Walker. He was PILs first drummer, but left them to join Kirk Brandon's original group (The Pack).

I had P.I.L. as psudo-punk (ie. throwbacks to the punk era) and had SoD as the same though I can't think why. Certainly didn't have them Goths.

First gig I went to was Theatre of Hate, supported by The Southern Death Cult

Saw Spear of Destiny some 17 times or so, including the Brockwell Park Save the GLC gig.

Was a bit disappointed with Outland, the 4th album that Never Take me Alive came off, as it seemed over-produced, and the feel had gone - too clinical, too metronomic. Definitely playing to a click track, if not a drum machine, and it lost some of the "live feel" that the earlier albums had...
