....in the 'Stone Love' video (the Cresciano one), when he's seen what looks like buffing his fingers in the rented apartment?

I was wondering if he and others I've half-seen in other vid.s use an emery board to desensitize the skin on their finger tips. I think Ben Moon is seen doing a similar thing in 'Stick It'.

Any ideas?

Filing down loose bits of skin that could get caught and cause major flappers the following day perhaps ?

I seem to recall regular use of an emery board helps promote skin growth as well.

In reply to Fraser: filing down the knobbly bits so they have a greater surface area in contact with the rock on slopers.

Here was me thinking he had either spectacularly maintained nails, or figured out how to climb solidly for a week long trip
without getting super-sensitive tips by the end of it!
