what is good music to climb to?
I think for routes that require aggression and power go for the Cranberries "Zombie"
and for routes that require delicacy and balance go for Brian Eno "an ending (ascent)"

What is others opinions?
I would burn CD's to play in my local centre and I am looking to make a few new ones.

Carl Orff's O Fortuna always seems to be playing when I crush another 7c+.

Spot on. Hardcore-techno is similar to shirts of for power, it adds 3% to your maximum power level. I credit Scott Brown with half of my hard problems

drum and bass: high contrast & london electricity are good
In reply to paulhigginsonNI: The Drum and Bass which is figuring heavily over the speakers at the Climbingworks at the moment is working for me. Just missing a few glow sticks!

mmmmmm...that'd make me want to plunge to the floor!...awful...perhaps obvious choices such as:

The Ace of Spades-Motorhead
Can I kick it- A Tribe Called Quest
Thunderstruck- AC/DC

would be better aggressive stuff....but there's no accounting for the whine of an irish miserablist

Indoors it would have to be Elastica, but outside nothing beats natural birdsong.

In reply to paulhigginsonNI: the theme from the "A team" and it has the advantage that you can sing ANY words you like and they'll still fit.

I am great,
I am great,
I am Great.
I I I am Great.

See told you!

Smashing Pumpkins - Try, Try, Try

(Though, the video may not inspire you..?)

Another vote for drum & bass. There's someone at Craggy who plays decent D&B on saturday mornings and it's great, but quite often he's followed by someone who likes to put a bit of EMO on. Somewhat less than optimal, that...

Rock On Tommy Zero!

I'd have to suggest an alternative would be 'Broken Hearts are for Arse'oles' by Zappa

Not exactly Drumm bass, more like BreakBeats, much better. Other than that it would be proper chillout or long desert rock tunes.

I use MusicStation on my N95 phone (but then again I do work for the company!), it's exclusively available on Vodafone and for £1.99 per week you can get access to 2million of the most popular full length music tracks:

You Can Get It If You Really Want – Jimmy Cliff

Hang Tough – Wild Magnolias
Finger Mash – Lee Perry
Crank It Up – Hardouken
Open Your Arms – Editors
Over and Over – Hot Chip
Lets Get It Started – Black Eyed Peas
Burn Burn – Lost Prophets
Harder Better Faster Stronger – Daft Punk
This Aint a Scene, Its An Arms Race – Fall Out Boy
Heavyweight Champion of the World – Reverend and the Makers
Give It – Helmet
Hang On – Fu Manchu
Smile Like You Mean It – The Killers
Bad Ass – Mickey Finn
Kung Fu - Ash
