Visited Aran Fawddwy today (12.2.9).
Snow from 500m, mainly breakable crust, apart from in wind scoured areas. Still ice around over 700m. Started snowing from 1.30pm onwards ( falling as sleet/rain at road level.
Easy gullies were all in condition, with okish snow ( but not bombproof neve) turf well frozen though- Appeared to be alot of snow melt in the recent passed ( wednesday) with debris in the gullies.
Fantastic remote atmospheric cwm above Creiglyn Dyfi.
Does anyone have a topo, or updated route info for here. I only have the mid wales 1988 guide which is very limited on detail. I believe there might be a later guide ( does this have more winter info in ?).
