In reply to Simon Pelly: The climbs through the big roof at the left hand end of main area. There are two which are well bolted. Also Urangutang has a couple of moves.

We were thinking of practicing some hauling and jugging at Sea Walls. Slabby start that rears up should recreate the trip to Sickle ledge... or so we think.

Sounds like we have similar longer term plans

In reply to Simon Pelly: Also there are some routes that you can look on the Wave at Cheddar which provide a steep but clean aid ascent which can be backed up by bolts to get to grips with clean aiding in relative safety. Obviously no hooks, cam hooks and especially bolts or you will be hung drawn and quartered.

I hadn't thought of Cheddar. That's a great idea.

I know it is not that near, but the Dewerstone in Devon has some good granite cracks which worked for me before a trip to the states.
