A long weekend you mean?! Are you looking for winter routes, rock climbs, hillwalks, camping, bothying, hostels, UK, Europe? Bit of a vague request!

Assume you mean a walk as it's in Hilltalk?

Head out to Knoydart maybe and stay in some of the bothies? It's fantastic out there.

It's at least your second post. Lads only?

In reply to shaunmillar: I don't think 3 or 4 days constitutes an expedition. It is little more than a sleepover!

Anyway more clues and I'll try to give sensible advice.

In reply to shaunmillar: lads an' lasses of course,

i only say expedition as im freesh back from my gold doe,

idealy bothying and camping, a bit of both would be nice,

scotland is the limit of exploitation so no european gigs please.

That case Scotland. Get a train up to Corrour station, head east to Dahlwhinnie. Climb Ben Alder on your way, and anything else that takes your fancy.

Why to do it? Cos you get dropped off in the middle of nowhere which is cool!

It's the first thing I did fresh after my DofE.

Scottish 4000ers?

Probably doable in 4 days if you don't hang about, quite a few bothies on the way too (eg. Culra).

As a 2 day idea, Grey Corries to Ben Nevis with a high camp / bivi is a good trip. That's definitely doable.

A trip to Rum would be another possible idea for a long weekend type trip

I strongly agree with this suggestion. Did the Corrour - Dalwhinnie walk over 2 days in May once a couple of years ago, via Beinn na Lap, Ben Alder and Beinn Bheoil.

East from Corrour is a good suggestion. Ben Alder Cottage is lovely (though haunted). From Corrour you can also loop north to Tulloch or south to Rannoch.
Or walk south from Achnashellach to unlock an even bigger wilderness...
