Thinking of heading to Kilnsey for a week or so later in the Summer ( if we ever get a Summer) Does anyone know of any cheapish camping/campsites nearby
In reply to robert mirfin: People camp/campervan in an open field alongside a river further up the valley (vague I know but you can't miss it if you drive on from Kilnsey). Unless this has changed - I've not been up there for a while.
Locals will know more.
As for campsites, they seem to be universally overcrowded on weekends and the owners have a *bad attitude*. Is this a theme in Yorkshire?
There's a site at Threshfield just down the road you might be able to use.
The farmer who owns the aforementioned field - second lane on the left up Littondale after Kilnsey - charges for parking, so you might be able to negotiate a staying rate. Zero facilities though.
