Hi all
Has anyone used 'proper' nikwax on Scarpa Charmoz or other fabric/goretex boots? I know it should be the 'fabric & leather' one but have always preferred proper wax for leather boots and wondered about these.
What was it like, were the boots ok afterwards, would you do it again, etc?

I was under the impression that they didn't need treating. That's what the bloke in the shop said, or at least inferred - he handed me a pair of Scarpa Charmoz saying "you might like these, great boots, really light..." and then looking disapprovingly at my old Scarpa SLs in serious need of waxing "...and they don't take much looking after!"
In reply to IceMan1964: Hi
Don't wax them as it will block the Goretex membrane. I use the leather and fabric proofer on mine and it works fine. The best way to do it is wet your boots then apply the proofer. I have had mine about 3-4 years and used this method without any issues apart from i do need a new sole from over use
