Looking to buy a rope for some indoor climbing and some basic single pitch sport climbing outdoors, was wondering if anyone could recommend be a rope length and type or even a specific rope?

60m is a good call. Personally I bought a 70m Mammut Vertex as I wanted to sport climb in Spain as well. It's a great rope for sport although far too long for indoors - a shorter rope would definitely be easier to use.
