Was climbing today and noticed that there is a lip of alloy forming on the underside of the device. All I can think is that this has happened when it has been rubbing against the HMS. The lip is rough and whilst not overly sharp, it is abrasive. I retired it right away. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I got it two years back, but cannot help but think that a belay device should last longer than it has done, nor deform in a potential lethal manner.

They all do that, just file it off. If anything the Reverso is worse.

My ATC-XP did exactly the same thing. I just filed it down and keep a close eye on it. was a little worried as I would have axpected it to be a bit stronger than that
