Either Rockfax by Mark Glaister - lots of piccies, good for a first visit, or Nick White's S Devon & Dartmoor, definitive (out of print) - good for words and a unique take on the art of guidebook writing. Nick also produced a more recent supplement. All these should still be available.
In reply to Tim.W.Climber: If it's photo topos you're after, DWS, or up-to-date descriptions / access instructions; go for west country climbs (rockfax). You'll find quite a few more routes for berry head in the nick white guide but go easy as I suspect some of the less popular trad climbs (e.g. the quarry) are in various states of disrepair!

Whatever you do make sure you check out the bird restrictions first which affect all the great cave routes and chunks of the DWS stuff.
