Great to be able to see Distilled and The Last Great Climb outside of Kendal.

In reply to Removed User: I've been a few times, it's well worth checking out. Went to an open air screening of the Wicker Man last night in Stoney Wood followed by a burning of the Wicker Woman.
They seem to be doing some really good stuff.
In reply to Mick B: Got my tickets! Looking forward to trying out the new cinema. So pleased to see these films shown locally.

In reply to Vanessa Simmons: Same here. I spoke to Paul who owns the cinema recently and he's looking to make this an annual event, hopefully bringing in some larger venues around the town next year which will make it more viable to host lectures, workshops etc.

As a frequent visitor to Wirksworth (family reasons) it seems there's always a lot going on there - the September Arts Festival, regular music (inc in Stoney Wood), good pubs and close to some great climbing. The little cinema is a great venture, and there are lots of independent specialist shops. I like it!

Just watched the Last Great Climb in the quarry. Really nice evening, blessed by the weather...

plus the thai rice balls were awesome!
