Operations Manager

The Manchester Climbing Centre operates one of the country’s premier climbing walls and is now seeking to hire a new Operations Manager to be part of its dynamic team.

Role and Responsibilities

The Operations Manager’s role will include the responsibility of managing and training staff. Looking to continually improve and develop our staff as well as our courses. We realise that our centre is only as good as our staff, and therefore we need an Operations Manager to keep up staff morale, maintain our exceptionally high safety standards as well as lead the team into delivering a range of high quality, fun and memorable courses.

In addition the Operations Manager will be responsible for building, wall and equipment maintenance, and PPE. Working closely with the Centre Manager to ensure that all Health and Safety procedures and policies as well as Operational Procedures are followed.

The role will also include Duty Manager responsibilities as well as Instructional work. Salary dependent on experience.

Skills Required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management, organisational and follow-up skills
Ability to utilize new techniques and ideas
Experience of management in the leisure industry, ideally with direct and relevant experience in climbing walls and/or ropes courses;
Dynamic, enthusiastic and highly energetic with a desire to build a successful business that is customer focused;
Experience of computers and basic programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook or similar;
Great team player who has the flexibility to help out in all aspects of the Centre, including ‘mucking’ in when required and an essential ‘can do’ attitude;
Available and prepared to work evenings and weekends
Single Pitch Award as a minimum
The role is to commence in March 2014, and would be based off a 40 hour working week, with a rolling shift pattern to include; weekdays, evenings and weekends.
