Just wanted to say a public thanks to Grivel, or more specifically, Adam at The Mountain Boot Co.
In Norway a couple of weeks ago I had a connecting bar snap on my G20 crampons. It was toward the end of the trip so I managed to do our last climb on the crampon tied back together with cord. I also broke a bail before that but managed to find a replacement. The crampons were three seasons old.
So I complained to Adam, and he has just sent me a brand new full set of replacement crampons. You can¡¦t say fairer than that.
Grivel have also changed the design of the bar to a ¡¥twin bar¡¦ to better suit the new more flexible B3 boots like the Phantoms. If you are still climbing on G20s with the original bar on flexy boots, it may be worth upgrading to these new bars ¡V I think Needlesports sell them separately.
Anyway, just thought it deserved a public shout out.
