Hi I was wondering if any one knew of any where to sport climb or top rope on dartmoor, I love the bouldering up there but was hoping to get up a rope??

No sport climbing on Dartmoor, but you should be able to get a top rope up at most places if you have trad gear. If you only have ropes and slings, you should be able to get some anchors at Dewerstone off trees/boulders and probably somewhere at more tors off boulders?

Its possible to top rope routes at: Hay Tor, Hound Tor, and Sheeps Tor.

Top rope wherever you like. There's probably in the region of 40 tors with recorded routes for you to try. The more popular spots already mentioned. Alternatively, a lot of the shorter routes at places like Hound Tor can be highballed safely with a few pads.

Javu is a good resource if you don't have the guide.

No sport climbing on the moor, head to the South Hams for that.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to head up to haytor tonight and give it a go.
