Gait analysis

A couple of years ago I injured my ankle and had a fair bit of physio, at the time the physio commented that I had a very high instep and rolled my foot out (supronation). Generally most of the physio assessments were done in bare feet running in a gym.

I had a video gait analysis at my local sports shop on Saturday, who said I over-pronate slightly. This was done on a treadmill in my normal running shoes and a pair with a degree of pronation control.

Before I go and buy some new running shoes is it worth getting a third opinion and if so is there a 'best' method of gait analysis?

Thanks!
In reply to Reach>Talent:

Gait analysis, as done in shoe shops, is designed to make you buy from them. Unless the analysis is done by a qualified podiatrist or physio then it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot. If you are worried about your running style, go to see a professional.

Ditto, don't be taking the advice of a shop boy/girl, go and see a professional (and one who specialises in sports injuries), not someone trying to flog you any pair of shoes.

That said, a pro will probably try and flog you a pair of orthotics, but you gotta make a buck.

I don't really mind someone trying to sell me something as I need some running shoes, I just want to get something suitable.

Any preference for the various types of gait assessment?
In reply to Reach>Talent:

Don't bother with it. Just try some shoes on, ideally on a treadmill. Buy the ones you think fit.
