Hello everyone on UKC,

I recently invested in some Salomon Snowcross (40 euros off!) and an ultralight axe (200 grams for only 60 euros!), and I've been testing them out as much as possible recently. Seeing as you aren't outdoors enjoying whatever weather is over your heads at the moment, if you enjoy stories about jogging around in the snow, lots of vertical height gain, and depressingly early mornings, then maybe you'd like to make a cup of tea, put on some Dire Straits or Decemberists or The Clash or something, and waste ten minutes of your life by rubbing this confused cluster of sentences into your brains.

Well, it's kind of you to say. Thanks.

I actually went for a bit of a jog this morning, with a 3am start in an effort to get the best consistency snow, but it was still absolutely sodden by the time I finished, 10 hours later. Did manage to get a nice 300m glissade in though, which was something of a highlight to the day.

Once I've washed the blood from my wounds and the fear from my pants, I might try and find the time to write a quick report about it!

Morning everyone,

Last week I went for a bit of a run across the Aiguilles Rouges (the easier side of the valley here in Chamonix), with the goal of staying as high as possible along the spine of the range, only dropping down when the terrain got too technical or my lungs started melting. Ticked off the Brevent, the Charlanon, the Gliere, the Crochues, and a few other lumps and bumps in between. It was an exhausting and, at times, terrifying day, but jolly good fun all the same.

There's a few words here, along with some phone-camera pictures, and quite excitingly, an incredibly poorly-made video, but at least the soundtrack is decent. I recommend a pint of tea and some buttered crumpets, or if you are reading this after midday, a glass of rose and some pork scratchings.

Thanks, all. Have a good day.

Hello everyone!

I went for a quick trip up the Petite Verte from Argentiere today in my shiny new shoes, and I accidentally filmed a music video whilst doing it. If watching men's buttocks pulsating to some vintage rock 'n' roll is your idea of a good time, then this is without a doubt the video for you.

There's also a handful of words here:

Cheers chaps, have an absolutely fab evening.
