last chance to object to Almscliff wind turbines
If you don't want to see wind turbines going up near Almscliff you need to register your objection today or tomorrow latest. See info below lifted from an article on the CC website.
Almscliff crag has been the iconic landscape feature of Lower Wharfedale in Yorkshire for thousands of years. This will change if a planning application to Harrogate Borough Council is approved for 2 x 48m high wind turbines. I have been going their since 1960’s so I have a very particular view, but Almscliff is known internationally for its history and climbing heritage.
A comment from the developer – “Crag might be a popular tourist attraction but it’s not protected, it’s nothing, it holds as much weight as a rock in your back garden.” When you get comments like this it is clearly money not environmental issues that are driving the scheme.
We have until Thursday 11th of June to object – you don’t need to be a resident of the Harrogate district to raise a valid objection.

Siting and appearance
