Just putting in a good word for two shops (we usually only tend to highlight problems)

Freeflow bikes: I went in with my GT avalanche bike and they thought the issue was the hub but didn't take the business, directing me to Cyclelane (according to their website they specialise in, among other makes, GTs) looking up the address, hours etc. on their computer and giving me directions to the shop.

Cyclelane: for very friendly service and diagnosing the issue straight away. So far, very impressive (though they need to update their site as they dropped GT from their range a few years ago)

In reply to Flinticus:

Use Freeflow quite a bit as they're my closest, just put my bike back into them today to fix the damage from the Tour de Ben Nevis.
Always straight up with you and their mechanic is sound as they come, very generous with advice and patient to boot!!!

Cyclelane also pretty good and well priced, staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I've been in as well.

To true,
Wheelies in uplands Swansea stayed open a bit late for me once on a dark cold and wet winter night after I got a puncture and then snapped the valve on my spare tube.

On the other had a certain large chain of stores with a name that sounds similar to bedz over tightened the seatpost clamp on my carbon racer, squashing the aero seatpost and cracking the frame then told me it was just a cosmetic defect.

In reply to Flinticus: would like to shout about Whinlatter Bikes in Keswick Brian who runs the shop is so helpful and offers great free advice .I recently upgraded the drive groupset on my specialized enduro to the super Shimano Xt 1x11 800 series and fitted he was cheaper than Chain Reaction Cycles web prices which is pretty impressive.

And now the bad that is KMB Keswick Mountain Bikes poor advice, rude ,unhelpful, arrogant
and very expensive.
