I'm trying to see if there would be any interest in a bouldering gym around the named towns.
My friend is thinking about building a wall but would like to build a boulder room first to see how fianacially viable this is

Luton would have a large catchment area as well as a University in town, if the facility was good then I would expect a reasonable level of trade, the area is crying out for a good wall. Being next to the M1 and not too far from the A 1 would allow the climbing commuter to visit.

... I was really excited until I realised that you hadn't in fact written Bulldozing Hitchin/Stevenage/Luton...

My bad.

catchment will be somewhat limited in that to the south you rapidly hit the point where it would be as easy to go into london.
You also have, poor but existing, walls in hemel and st albans for the quick climb.
So depends on whats the other side i think.

I had the 'pleasure' of working in Dunstable last year, it was easy to pop up the M1 to Big Rock so you've got some competition...
