Can anyone recommend a residential course I can do for me gold D of E, preferably some sort of climbing course? I believe it needs to be at least 2 nights residential. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Plas-y-Brenin would be the obvious option:

http://www.pyb.co.uk/courses-bmc.php -- BMC subsidised courses, including some specifically for people aged 14-17

Haven't been to PyB myself, but I hear great things about their teaching and their cake. *g*

I did the two day "Moving Out" course (at PyB last October, and would definitely recommend it. I don't know how compatible it is with the gold award award though.

I'd also recommend the cake. My theory was that the outdoor skills stuff is just a front for a vast underground cake manufacturing operation.

When I did the "Learn to rock climb" 5-day course at Glenmore Lodge one of the others was doing it as their DoE Gold residential course.

Hi, no info on options for you - just wanted to let you know the Residential needs to be 5 days & 4 nights. Hope you find something that you'll enjoy and benefit from. Good luck with your Gold Award
