Yesterday, not knowing what a scorcher(probably the hottest this year - I took my watch off at the summit and it was still showing 30C) it was going to be, I set out from the Railway Inn at Ribblehead and ascended Whernside following the railway almost to the Blea Moor Tunnel and then following the path north west - west - south west to the ridge and thence to the summit. My approximate time was two and three quarter hours including stops, the longest probably being ten to fifteen minutes.
Out of interest, would anyone else consider this to be a reasonable time?
The pint back at the pub was heaven!
