The BMC is the national representative body for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers in England and Wales; we have 82,000 members, 30 staff, a dedicated volunteer network and our head office is based in West Didsbury, Manchester. We are seeking an independent member to join our board of directors (Executive Committee) of eight individuals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the business / commerce / marketing sphere, ideally with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Membership organisations and associated business systems.
- Business development.
- Online marketing.
- Customer recruitment and retention.
The BMC’s board provides strategic direction, supports the operational management and helps promote our activities in England and Wales. The successful candidate will be expected to scrutinize plans and decisions in a constructive way and help guide the future development of the BMC.
