Our experience last summer was that there is very little easy climbing, but Baume Besse is accessible and has some easier routes - one day they were hogged by groups top roping the lines. The valley is stunning with lots of safe river swimming, canoe trips, good camp sites, a fabulous belvedere walk and superb if challenging Via Ferrata at La Rosiere.
