We are in the poo de cabrales area, and on the hunt for a few gas canisters for the jetboil. Any ideas where we could find some without trekking to decathlon in Santander?

Cheers

Cangas de Onis has at least one outdoors shop. Arenas de Cabrales has one. Potes has one.

Gas is easy to find, Coleman fuel much less so

Try an ironmonger shop, "ferretero" HTH.

Ferretería

You are correct of course.

ferretero is my computers translation of ironmonger.
Ferretería is my computers translation of hardware shop, which is much more likely on the high street in Spain.

Usually very well stocked with some sort of gas canisters, even if it means buying a locally made stove, often a cheaper option than trying to fit a specialist stove.

Sadly I get gas most places I go, I blame the change in beer

I ended up with turpentine when I needed fuel. It was the only compatible thing I could find for my MSR in Cangas De Onis (Except petrol from the station). (It works fine, but stinks)

I compared this with my local Morrisons when I got home. White spirit in the paints aisle, BBQ fluid (kerosene) in the next aisle.
