The fishermen of Hull were known as '3 day millionaires', because they'd spend a lot of their earnings when back on shore getting drunk and having a nice time, before going back out to sea.

My parents met in Hull, and I've long term family friends who originate from there, it's a tongue in cheek song which makes it quite likeable - too.

I got my first ever tattoo in Hull. 1982 I think. I was there to watch the Ian Gillan band which ended up being a great gig.
Happy new year to you!

Apparently the fishermen used to wear ear rings during an era where if it'd been anybody else, people would have taken the mickey - in generally being less enlightened times, but nobody did because it was robust fishermen.

I find social history nuggets quite interesting.

A much underrated rock band.
