I prefer Canon printers nowadays.

the Canon iP8750 is good value for an A3+ at £200 (got mine for £159 as open box from WarehouseExp) . Nice and easy to use and good prints - easily as good as my old Espon 7800.

They have open box one for £179 at moment: http://www.wexphotographic.com/buy-used-canon-pixma-ip8750-photo-inkjet-pri...

Epson Stylus Photo 1500W Printer just about fits your budget at £230, but the prints may not be archival quality and could fade if displayed in daylight.

For non-fade prints, you need a printer that uses pigment inks, like the Epson SureColor SC-P600 at £570. Way over your budget I know, but you can get inexpensive (yet superb quality) refillable pigment ink cartridges from Marrutt - significantly offsetting the initial printer/inking system costs:

My experience with Epson is that if they aren't being used weekly they will clog and become unusable.

Isn't that the case with most inkjet printers?
