I would like to know what companies do people recommend to do a course in trad I only climb sport single pitch at the moment but from the info off the people on here they recommend that I get into trad multi pitch.

Course type I'm looking for is intro to trad/multi pitch

Could travel to north wales, the lakes or the peaks I'm based near Chester

Thanks
Shane

Check out the Moving Out and Introduction to Leading courses at Plas Y Brenin. I've done them both and found them to be very good. Two day and five day versions available.

If you've done no trad at all then Moving Out will show you how to build belays and top ropes. Depending on your experience you might want to go straight to the Introduction to Leading course - when I did it we were mostly on multi-pitch routes and learning ropework and gear placement , but it also covered self-rescue techniques like escaping the system, prusiking, etc. Also abseiling.

Courses are not cheap, join a club. There is not very much multi-pitch in the Peak. It IS the Peak by the way and not the Peaks.

Consider calling Mike at Keswick Mountain Adventures 07900282982; he is a "proper climber", by that I mean he lives and breathes climbing and if not working taking people climbing, is out climbing with mates. He has a good pedigree having been on a number of important first ascents in the Lakes and is a good guy.....he has two brilliant dogs, Chip and Elvis who are usually along for support too!

Based in North Wales and always super psyched for climbing and have been running these types of courses for years My logbook is visible on here so you can see what I get up to when I'm not working.
