Lost kit on Aonach Mor

Hi all,

Had a bit of an 'epic' on Aonach Mor yesterday/day before and as a result my climbing partner and I lost ice axes in a windslab avalanche in Coire an Lochan. -Spike's gully area

I appeal to the good folk of UKC to let me know if anything is found. Mine is a DMM Fly hammer (on its first outing!!) and Steve's is a Simond (I think).

Unless you're lucky, your best chance is to go back in (say) August/September and look when the snow has melted. Maybe July this snowless year. A friend lost an axe in an avalanche on Braeriach quite near the semi-permanent snow and we went back in the autumn and found it. Thanks to global warming, we didn't have to wait 50 years for the snow to melt.
