Anyone not wanting to waste time getting to Glenridding from the N (as I did yesterday) should note that you cannot drive from Pooley Bridge (N end of Ullswater) to Glenridding at the moment and for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

You have to travel via the A66 rejoining the A592 just S of Aira Force.

I don't know when it reopened but travelled up the newly restored road yesterday - will be much better ride on a bike along that bit than it has been for years.
