Seriously!
Went to the crematorium to collect my dearest old friend Bertie's ashes this arvo and had to show proof of ID and sign yet another form.
My drivers license has my name as Robert A Pollitt yet all the forms had *Andy* on them. So, had to explain that I go by an abbreviated middle name .... Honestly!
What a palaver - and now my old mate's remains are here with me.
(For those who don't know, 'Bertie' is Albert Gerart Willem Berendsen from The Troopers Arms in The Grampians who I wrote fondly of in my little book).
Sorry, just a tad unnerved having his remains here but to Post Script that chapter: RIP Fritz, RIP Katie, Koo, Caddie, a puddy-tat and now The Great Man himself - Bert.
Goodness only knows what shenanigans he's up to 'up there' right now!
