It may just be a quick spare of the moment average pic take last year, but imagine my surprise when I swiped through the BBC News to see my photo.

Yay.

The web site has evolved since this morning. My shot is of two people sat down on an oversized pebble.

Good for you. Always nice to get some fame, however fleeting.

Is "Dan, left, says a text message..." the one?

Sure is.

We keep ribbing him about appearing in Heat magazine.

Congratulations! It's a very thoughtful photograph - perfectly complements the text. I can see why they used it.

Totally agree.

I remember, years and years ago, training with a well-known climber, kind of Mr Reliable, always in good shape, always squeaky clean. It was just the two of us. We were chatting about personal stuff when suddenly he came straight out with it and admitted that, when his marriage fell apart, he'd seriously thought about topping himself.

I suspect most people would have been astonished in a, "Well that's the last person I'd ever have expected...' kind of way. But of course it's not just him - or me. It's all of us.

An incredibly important subject which your photograph has helped to highlight.

Mick
