Hi Stew, just replied to your Facebook message but didn't realise you were going in May. I'd imagine you'll encounter quite a bit of snow which you can boil as well. May is early for attempting the circuit, I'd check the conditions with the Cortina guides office but at that time of year you'd normally want some crampons, a walking axe and a rope.
You might be lucky this year though as snow fall has been light throughout the winter season.
