East to west is straightforward. Park in one of the lay-bys on the A82 just west of the pass of Glencoe. Traversing east to west, once the ridge mellows out and the pub is in sight, avoid descending the steep gully directly to the Clachaig Inn, instead continue west and follow the mellow trail down to the road (which brings you out near woodland about a mile or two further on from the pub). Walk to the pub, drink beer, hitch a lift back to your car. If you are organised you could leave a bike at the pub at the start of the day.
Also, if you're making good time on the ridge, consider continuing over the Pap of Munro. Adds an hour or two to the day but gives some lovely late afternoon views over Loch Leven.
The ridge can dry out in hours or days depending on conditions. Just make the call the day before. Although not recommended, plenty of folk manage it in the wet so it's really up to you and your ability. If unsure, be conservative and/or take a rope...
