Does anyone know who owns and manages access to Derwent Moor? Just wondering where people announce grouse shooting closures etc. Had an interesting time today.

Fairholmes visitor centre has a diary with shoot dates in.

Unless the area is the subject of an agreement made before CRoW then any closures should be shown at http://www.openaccess.naturalengland.org.uk I think

I got told the moor around sypeland was closed last week for shooting couldn't see any signs, was open access land but footpath on map were shown as green dots meaning not formal footpaths so ended up climbing elsewhere but ruined my day a bit.

Not sure where you mean exactly but the moor west of Mortimer Road in the Strines area is owned by the Wentworth Fitzwilliam Estate, owner Sir Philip Naylor-Leyland and area manager Antony Barber-Lomax at the Estate Office, Wentworth, Rotherham S62 7TD 01226 742041
